PRIVACY POLICY
Music Producer Battle Royale · Last updated 2026-08-28
This policy explains what we collect and why when you use Music Producer Battle Royale
(the "platform"), with a focus on the audio tracks you upload and how they are processed
for track recognition and cooldowns.
WHO WE ARE
The platform is run by the stream operator ("we", "us"). Questions or data requests:
reach us via the stream's Discord or Twitch.
WHAT WE COLLECT
- Twitch account info — when you log in with Twitch, we receive and
store your Twitch user ID, username, display name and profile picture, used to
identify you across submissions, voting and the leaderboard.
- Audio tracks you upload — the audio files themselves, plus the
track name and artist name you provide, file type, size and duration.
- Audio fingerprints & hashes — derived from your uploaded audio
(a byte hash, a content hash, and an acoustic fingerprint). These are used purely
to recognise/identify tracks (see below) and are not the audio itself.
- Participation data — submissions, which tracks you enter, votes you
cast or receive, points, and match/bracket history.
HOW WE USE YOUR UPLOADED TRACKS
Track recognition ("Shazam-lite"). When you upload a track we
generate acoustic fingerprints and hashes from it. We use these to detect duplicate
uploads, to check whether a track matches one already played or a known commercial
release, and to flag potential re-uploads for review. This helps keep the competition
fair.
Track cooldowns. We keep a record of which tracks have been played
(identified by their fingerprint/hash and metadata) so the same track can't be re-entered
again until its cooldown has passed.
Your uploaded tracks are also played back on the stream/battle pages during the tournament
as part of the competition.
WHERE IT IS STORED & WHO ELSE SEES IT
- Storage. Uploaded audio files are stored with a cloud object-storage
provider (Cloudflare R2). Track records, fingerprints, hashes and account/participation
data are stored in our application database.
- Twitch handles login (OAuth); we only receive the basic profile fields
listed above.
- Recognition providers. If external recognition is enabled, an acoustic
fingerprint (not necessarily the full audio file) may be sent to third-party matching
services (e.g. AcoustID, AudD, ACRCloud) solely to identify the track. Their handling of
that data is governed by their own privacy policies.
RETENTION
We keep your uploaded tracks and their derived fingerprints/hashes for as long as they are in
your track library or needed for recognition and cooldown purposes. You can delete a track from
your library at any time; deleting it removes the stored audio file. Fingerprint/hash records
used to enforce fairness and cooldowns may be retained in de-identified form.
YOUR CHOICES & RIGHTS
- You control what you upload and can delete tracks from your library.
- The artist name you set is shown on the battle screen; it does not change your Twitch
profile.
- To request access to, or deletion of, your account data, contact us via the stream's
Discord or Twitch.
CHILDREN
The platform is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by Twitch in
your region). Do not use it if you are under that age.
CHANGES
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
